SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League has announced the postponement of two upcoming games this weekend due to a flu bug that has affected members of the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners.
With the Gold Miners unable to ice a full roster, their next two contests have been called off until a later date.
Those match-ups are Kirkland Lake’s home game Friday versus the Timmins Rock and a Sunday road meeting that was to have been against the Cochrane Crunch.
“The flu bug has been making its way through a number of our teams as of late, so we’re continuing to do the safe and practical thing for the health and safety of all involved,” said league commissioner Robert Mazzuca.
The NOJHL will release the dates of the two make-up meetings once they are finalized.
