HEARST, Ont. – Rayside-Balfour Canadians goaltender Sebastien Plamondon turned aside all 27 shots he faced to register his first Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League shutout Saturday, a 2-0 decision over the Hearst Lumberjacks at Claude Larose Arena.
After a scoreless opening frame, the visiting Canadians opened the scoring during a second period power play when Giordano Biondi notched his sixth of the campaign at 8:23 in what would be the eventual game-winner.
Up a skater again later in the stanza, Rayside-Balfour converted once more when Evan Krassey collected his fourth at 16:02.
Plamondon did the rest handling every attempt fired his way to secure the road victory.
Nicholas Tallarico got the nod between the pipes for Hearst and faced 21 shots in defeat for Hearst.
