GALLERY: Serre scores 2 as Blind River beats Rayside-Balfour

BLIND RIVER, Ont. – Caleb Serre of the Blind River Beavers scored twice, including the game-winner, to help lead his side to a 4-1 win over the Rayside-Balfour Canadians Saturday in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action at the Blind River Community Centre.

Coming out strong, Rayside-Balfour needed less than two minutes to open the night’s scoring as Brett McGlade notched his first NOJHL goal at 1:57.

Moving on to the middle session, Blind River came back to tie it up during a man advantage opportunity with Brendan Young bagging his 10th overall at 6:51.

The Beavers kept it going and went up 2-1 later in the stanza thanks to Serre who scored for the 13th time so far in 2018-19.

Heading to the third, Serre struck again for his 14th early in the frame to put the home side up by two .

They then got some insurance courtesy of Lucas Adams at 4:59 which proved to be the night’s final goal.

Blind River’s Riley Nadeau saw a five-game goal streak come to an end, but he did have an assist on the night to extend a point streak to six straight outings.

Garret Boyonoski made 29 saves to record the win for the Beavers while Sebastien Plamondon was peppered with 57 shots against in defeat for Rayside-Balfour.
