MASSEY, ON – The Blind River Beavers scored three times in the opening period as they went on to dump the Elliot Lake Vikings 8-1 at the Massey & District Arena on Friday night.
Evan Fraccaro had two goals for the Beavers while Jacob Kovacs contributed three assists.
It was a very quick start for the Beavers as a pass off the end wall by Jesse Dupuis to the dangerous Daniel Vasic found the back of the net on a quick release as he netted his 23rd of the season only 12 seconds in.
The Beavers continued to roll early as Evan Fraccaro picked up a rebound off a shot by Matthew Campanella and put it past Braydon Garnhart for the early 2-0 lead at 1:55.
Campanella got into the scoring himself at the 14:00 minute mark for his 7th which made it 3-0 for the visitors.
The Vikings got on the board at 10:28 of the middle frame as Carter Carriere netted his second to cut the lead to 3-1.
But in the late stages of the second as Andrey Manov and Clark Furman had goals less than a minute apart to give the Beavers a 5-1 lead after two periods of play.
The Beavers added three more in the final frame on tallies from Michael Gallagher, Fraccaro with his second and Joseph Rotillo in what was a penalty-filled third period.
With the road win the Beavers improve to 34-10. The Vikings sink to 5-30-1-4.
