Cochrane’s Gratton named Gongshow Gear player of the month

SUDBURY – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Friday that Cochrane Crunch forward Cody Gratton has been named the Gongshow Gear Inc. player of the month for September.

In eight games last month the 20-year-old Sudbury product led all NOJHL skaters in both goals and points with nine and 17 respectively.

Gratton also had five multi-point outings helping the first-year Crunch post a 6-2 record.

Cochrane also went 5-0 in contests he notched at least one goal in the month that was.

Honourable mention for Gongshow Gear player of the month honours for September went to Abitibi Eskimos forward Brady Clouthier and Sudbury Nickel Barons defenceman Khadyn Butterfly.

Clouthier, 20, is second in the league in goals (8) and third in points (14).

As for Butterfly, the 20-year-old tops all NOJHL defencemen in goals (5) and points (10).
