The North Bay Literacy Council and the Ontario Early Years Centre-Nipissing
(proudly supported by Community Living North Bay) are once again this year
presenting Family Literacy Day. The North Bay Junior “A” Trappers are
excited to be included in this community partnership.
“The Trappers are very proud of our partnership with Community Living
North Bay. Our School Breakfast Club visits have grown to be a huge hit for
so many area schools and our players each season” stated Coach Tom
McCarthy. “The Trappers believe in family and very much look forward to
helping to raise awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in other
literacy-related activities.”
Family Literacy Day is being held this year on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at
Sam Jacks Community Centre (West Ferris Arena). There will be free skating
with the Trappers and you can join us upstairs in the auditorium for crafts,
stories, make your own book, face painting, play dough activities and snacks!
The event will run from 1 – 3 pm. There will be one free hot chocolate per
person. Bring along your friends and family and be a part of the fun while
promoting literacy in our area.
