Labelle shines in Espanola shutout of Iroquois Falls
IROQUOIS FALLS, Ont. – Kevin Labelle was stellar making 55 stops as the Espanola Express edged the Iroquois Falls Eskis 1-0 Saturday evening in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League encounter at Jus Jordan Arena.
Eskis netminder Joe Sheppard was equally as solid as he saved all but one of the 43 shots he faced in a hard-fought setback.
Both goaltenders stole the show throughout the night in a game that was scoreless through two periods of play.
Espanola got the lone tally of the evening with 6:36 to go in regulation as Mitchal Payette notched his second goal of the season with assists going to Patrick Smith and Keenan Kennedy.
