SUDBURY – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Wednesday its respective Gongshow Gear Inc., player, defenceman, goaltender and rookie of the month for October.

GONGSHOW GEAR PLAYER OF THE MONTH – TYLER PETERS, (F) POWASSAN VOODOOS

In eight games in October the 19-year-old Powassan product had points in each of them, which were all Voodoos victories.

Peters scored eight times last month and added 11 assists averaging over two points-per-game by racking up 19 in total for his club.

He currently leads Powassan in overall offensive production with 30 points, which leaves him sixth in NOJHL scoring.

Honourable Mention: Hunter Atchison, (F) Cochrane Crunch; Zachary Kercz, (F) Timmins Rock

GONGSHOW GEAR DEFENCEMAN OF THE MONTH – KYLE FRANSEN, RAYSIDE-BALFOUR CANADIANS

Skating in eight contests in October, the 20-year-old Sudbury native amassed points in seven of them, while helping bolster the Canadians defensive corps.

In all he tallied four times and helped set-up 10 more markers totalling 14 points for Rayside-Balfour.

Fransen is presently riding a four-game point streak and tops all NOJHL blueliners in goals and points with eight and 20 respectively.

Honourable Mention: Caleb Boman, Soo Thunderbirds; Ryan Mooney, Rayside-Balfour Canadians

GONGSHOW GEAR GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH – NATHAN WARREN, SOO THUNDERBIRDS

The 20-year-old netminder, who hails from Prince George, B.C., allowed only six pucks to get by him for a 1.00 goals-against average in October along with an impressive .953 save percentage with two of his triumphs being shutouts.

The T-Birds stopper leads all league netminders with an overall .934 save mark with his 1.64 average being second just behind teammate Brendon Gordon.

Honourable Mention: Tyler Mazzocato, Kirkland Lake Gold Miners; Garrett Forrest, Powassan Voodoos

GONGSHOW GEAR ROOKIE OF THE MONTH – JERAN KNORR, COCHANE CRUNCH

Continuing to shine offensively, the 18-year-old Kelowna, B.C., product skated in 11 games last month and registered eight goals and supplied nine assists for 17 points.

Sporting a six-game point streak, Knorr leads all NOJHL rookies in scoring with 29 points on a dozen tallies and 17 helpers.

That total also ties him for seventh best overall among all league skaters.
