SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Thursday its respective CCM Hockey player, defenceman, goaltender and rookie of the month for February.
CCM HOCKEY PLAYER OF THE MONTH – KYLE HERBSTER, (F) COCHRANE CRUNCH: Taking to the ice in nine games in February, Herbster amassed 21 points along the way with six goals and 15 assists to his credit.
This included one game-winner and seven multi-point contests for the 19-year-old from Cary, Ill.
Herbster enters the final week of the regular season leading all NOJHL skaters in offensive production with a career single-season high 84 points, including 36 tallies.
His eight shorthanded markers also lead all league skaters.

CCM HOCKEY DEFENCEMAN OF THE MONTH – CONNOR LOVIE, (D) COCHRANE CRUNCH: Averaging over a point-per-game for Cochrane last month, Lovie picked up 13 points in nine games as he scored six times and helped set-up seven others.
The 20-year-old from London, Ont., is riding a five-game point streak and presently tops all NOJHL defencemen in offensive production having notched 14 goals and 32 assists for 46 points.
Two games shy of 200 in his NOJHL career, Lovie’s totals this season are all personal bests.

CCM HOCKEY GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH – TAYLOR UNRUH, (G) COCHRANE CRUNCH: Appearing in seven games for the Crunch in February, Unruh produced a 6-0 record along with a 2.42 goals-against average for the month and a .917 save percentage.
In his final campaign in Jr. A hockey, the veteran netminder from Regina, Sask., sits third in the league in wins with 19.
He also sports a 10-1 won-loss record in his past 11 decisions.

CCM HOCKEY ROOKIE OF THE MONTH – SPENCER SILVER, (F) HEARST LUMBERJACKS: February was an impressive one for the North Wales, Penn., product, who turned 19 a month ago.
In a dozen contests for first-year Hearst, Silver was an offensive force as he recorded 21 points along the way, including 11 goals.
This included a NOJHL season single-game-high seven points back on Feb. 13 when he scored four times and set-up three more in a road win at Cochrane.
That effort was one of five multi-point outings he produced last month and among the 12 he’s had so far in 2017-18.
Silver sits fourth in league rookie scoring with 50 points as he’s scored 25 times and produced as many helpers.
