NOJHL names its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Monday that the Greater Sudbury Cubs forward trio of Hudson Chitaroni; Ethan Larmand and Marshall McCharles have been named its final Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week, for the 2023-24 season.

HUDSON CHITARONI, (F) GREATER SUDBURY CUBS: A clutch performer on the Cubs’ run to the NOJHL championship, Chitaroni tacked on another four points in the club’s final two games of the final versus Powassan.

The 16-year-old Chitaroni tallied twice, including supplying the game-winner in overtime of Game 4, and dished out a pair of assists during the time frame. He also etched him name on the game sheet in all five outings of the final.

He went on to share the NOJHL playoff lead in goals, points and deciding markers with 12, 22 and three respectively.

ETHAN LARMAND, (F) GREATER SUDBURY CUBS:
The 20-year-old from Midland, Ont., chipped in with two points apiece in the last pair of contests against the Voodoos to help secure the league title.

Larmand dished out a pair of helpers, including one on tying tally in the third period of Game 4, then notched the equalizer in the concluding frame of the finale, to go with an earlier assist, to help secure the title.

Wrapping up the playoffs with 14 points, featuring five multi-point performances, in 16 contests, Larmand scored five times in all and helped set-up nine others.

MARSHALL MCCHARLES, (F) GREATER SUDBURY CUBS:
Notching the championship-winning goal for Greater Sudbury, McCharles capped off the NOJHL postseason for the Cubs in dramatic fashion.

The 17-year-old from North Bay chipped in with another marker in the Game 5 triumph, in a final series in which he provided two game-winners, out of the four Cubs’ victories.

McCharles had a dozen points overall in the playoffs by connecting seven times and providing five assists.
