VIDEO / GALLERY: Romaniuk leads Rock past Lumberjacks

TIMMINS, ON – The Timmins Rock stormed back with three third period goals en route to a 5-4 comeback win over the Hearst Lumberjacks at the McIntyre Arena in Timmins on Monday afternoon.

Brant Romaniuk led the Rock with a pair of goals in the home win while Mason Svarich supplied two assists for the Rock against his former team.

The Rock opened the scoring midway through the first when Felix Cadieux-Fredette scored a power play goal for his 4th as Harry Clark got his 55th assist of the season on the opening goal.

The Lumberjacks responded late in the first when Mathieu Comeau got his 14th with only 6 seconds left in the first to make it 1–1 after 1.

Romaniuk got the Rock ahead just over 2 minutes into the second period to make it 2-1 for the home side.

The Lumberjacks responded with a pair in the middle frame.

Julien Trudel put home his third to tie it at 2-2 at 7:07.

Late in the period, the Lumberjacks Tyler Patterson potted his 33rd to give the visitors the 3-2 lead going into the third.

In the third, Romaniuk got his 15th on an unassisted tally to even things at 3-3 at 6:51 of the final frame.

Just over a minute later it was Nolan Ring who put the Rock ahead at 8:04 which made it 4-3.

Just over two minutes after the Ring tally, Harry Clark put the Rock up 5-3 with a power play marker at 10:02.

Adam Shillinglaw got the Lumberjacks back within one with a power play goal at 17:29 which made it 5-4.
