Baalerud backstops Eskimos to 2nd straight win

IROQUOIS FALLS – For a second straight night Braddock Baalerud stood tall in net for the Abitibi Eskimos as he backstopped his club to a 2-1 triumph over the Cochrane Crunch Saturday evening in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League play at Jus Jordan Arena.

Cochrane got off to a good start as the Crunch opened the scoring 2:25 into the contest as Dustin Deugau notched his first of the season for the visitors.

It stayed 1-0 until 14:23 of the second when Brenden Locke notched the equalizer for Abitibi as he finished off a feed from Joshua DeJulio.

Brady Clouthier then fired home the game-winner with 11:56 to go as he beat Crunch goalkeeper Troy Paquette with his team-leading sixth tally of the season.

Baalerud finished the night with 36 saves to record the win for the Eskimos, who pumped 45 pucks on Paquette in the Cochrane net.
