GALLERY: Timmins terrific in triumph over Cochrane

TIMMINS, Ont. – Eamon Bollinger scored twice, including the game-winner, as the Timmins Rock went on top the Cochrane Crunch 6-2 Friday night in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League East Division encounter at McIntyre Arena.

Despite Cochrane having a number of man advantage opportunities in the opening frame, it was Timmins that clicked offensively as they notched a pair of markers 21 seconds apart courtesy of Josh Anderson and Darcy Haupt to take a 2-0 lead after one period of play.

It was more Rock to commence the second stanza when Bollinger’s fourth put the home side up by three nearly six minutes into the session.

The NOJHL’s leading goal getter, in Timmins’ Derek Seguin, kept his club going offensively as he collected his league-best 17th during a man advantage opportunity at 14:25.

They then added another power play marker before the second came to a close thanks to Keegan McMullen’s seventh.

Up a skater early in the third Cochrane capitalized to get on the board at 2:33 with Seiji Martone picking up his fourth of the campaign.

Nicolas Flanders added another for the Crunch five minutes later to move closer, but Bollinger added his club’s third power play marker of the night to help secure the win.

Rock netminder Tyler Masternak made 21 saves to record the victory and also picked up an assist in the triumph.

Newcomer Bradley Dobson suffered the loss in his NOJHL debut for the Crunch allowing five on 17 shots in two periods of work while Zach Wickson stopped 17 of 18 in third period relief.
