Powassan’s Parker Bowman named NOJHL playoff MVP

BLIND RIVER, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Friday that Powassan Voodoos forward Parker Bowman has been named the playoff’s Most Valuable Player for his contributions during the 2017 postseason.

The 17-year-old Bracebridge, Ont., product was stellar on both ends of the ice helping Powassan go a perfect 12-0 in their NOJHL playoff run, which culminated in the organization’s first league championship.

Seeing action in all 12 postseason contests for the Voodoos, Bowman produced 20 points on 11 goals and nine assists.

He also supplied four game-winning markers, which led the league and he finished the playoffs on a six-game point streak.

In regular season play, the Powassan rookie was named the NOJHL Top Defensive Forward.
