CCHL’s Rockland Nationals maintain place atop CJHL Top 20 rankings

TORONTO – Continuing their solid run, the Rockland Nationals (CCHL) maintain their place atop the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 Rankings – Fuelled by Gatorade, announced Monday.

With 15 victories to their credit, against just one setback in overtime, the Central Canada Hockey League front-runners boast a 15-0-0-1 record heading into play this week, while pacing the CCHL in both goals-scored and fewest allowed.

Sporting a winning percentage of .895, to pace the Maritime Hockey League (MHL) in that category, the Edmundston Blizzard sit No. 2 in the national listings, which are compiled each week by an independent scouting service.

Edmundston sports a 17-2-0-0 mark on the season, including 15 wins in regulation.

Moving up to No. 3 in the 118-team CJHL are the Grande Prairie Storm (AJHL).

Topping the table in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, the Storm have surged out to a 13-1-1-1 run to commence their campaign and have collected 17 out of a possible 18 points in their past nine outings.

Slotted No. 4 are the Leamington Flyers (OJHL).

Pacing the Ontario Junior Hockey League in points with 34, through 20 games, Leamington has gone 16-2-1-1 to date, and have yet to lose on home ice.

Riding a 13-game heater, the Greater Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL) round out the Top 5 this week.

Along with their solid winning streak, the defending Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League champions have gone 14-1-1-1 overall under former CJHL player of the year (1997), and current head coach, Darryl Moxam.
