NOJHL’s Thunderbirds move to No. 6 in CJHL rankings

CALGARY, Alta. – With much of the country enjoying a holiday Monday, the Brooks Bandits (AJHL) continue to be all business.

As the No. 1 club in the Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 Rankings, Brooks remains red hot having reeled off 28 straight wins heading into a matinee today vs. the Calgary Mustangs as they look to continue their torrid pace.

Holding firm at No. 2 in the CJHL are the Thunder Bay North Stars (SIJHL), who have gone 36-3-1-1 to date.

Playing .853 hockey and sporting a 41-5-1-4 record, the Oakville Blades stay No. 3 nationally for another week.

The Summerside Western Capitals (MHL) are No. 4 again as they lead the way in the Maritimes with a 34-7-1-1 mark.

Up to No. 5 in the latest listings is perennial power in Quebec, les Cobras de Terrebonne, who sit in first in the LHJAAAQ with a solid 35-7-3-1 overall record.

After wrapping up their league regular season title over the weekend, the Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL) jump to No. 6 in the nation this week.

Rounding out the Top 10 are the Portage Terriers (MJHL); North York Rangers (OJHL); Bonnyville Pontiacs (AJHL) and the defending national champion Chilliwack Chiefs (BCHL).
